11 bands, over 70 musicians and numerous musical styles descend on 4 stages at Mains d'Oevres for this celebration of world music. Headlining the event: the Queen of afrobeat,
Wunmi. Originally starting out as a dancer for
Soul II Soul, Wunmi has gone on to work with such luminaries as
Masters At Work,
Seiji,
Truby Trio and
A Guy Called Gerald.
Also featuring on the varied bill for this event are, amongst others, Australian Aboriginal didgeridoo master
Mark Atkins, the high energy samba funk of the Afro Latin Vintage Orchestra and the supercharged Klezmer of
Untchak Attak.
