Candi Staton has touched soul, pop and disco at a fundamental level. Her 2006 album returned to her coutry-soul roots - "His Hands" featured the production of
Lambchop's Mark Nevers, and the title track was written by
Will Oldham. The new album "Who's Hurting Now" continues in the same vein, Nevers on production again, with another Will Oldham track.
