Luc Moullet

Luc Moullet is a French film critic and filmmaker, and a member of the Nouvelle Vague or French New Wave. Moullet's films are known for their humor, anti-authoritarian leanings and rigorously primitive aesthetic, and heavily influenced by his love of American B-movies.

Up to this day he has made 38 films in a variety of formats and styles ; comedy (Brigitte et Brigitte), adventure ((Les Contrebandières), westerns (Une aventure de Billy le Kid, with Jean-Pierre Léaud), erotica (Anatomie d'un rapport, co-directed with his wife, with Moullet playing the main role), intimate diary (Ma première brasse, Les Minutes d'un faiseur de films), road movies (Parpaillon), crime films (...Au champ d'honneur), militant documentaries (Genèse d'un repas), geographical documents of mountain reliefs, the list goes on… He is dead pan and burlesque in his approach to new wave cinema and a fine and sharp observer of social comedy of the time like that of Tati and Buñuel. His Para- scientific approach and his rationality keeps the world at a distance and helps to produce studied and consciously simple-style films.

The films today will be presented by Moullet and there is a book signing afterwards. "Sans Titre"- a short documentary, a day in the life of Luc Moullet with “Les minutes d’un Faiseur de Films” and Moullet leans to swim in “Ma Premiere Brasse”.
