Art: Concept presents the personal exhibition of Martine Aballéa. “The Last Lost Lake and other stories” is the title of the new fiction by the artist. The exhibition is in conjunction with the release of a retrospective catalogue “Roman Partiel”. For a very longtime Aballéa has held a unique place on the contemporary art scene, developing a diverse and unclassifiable body of work in a form which lies somewhere between conceptual art, gardening, photography, cooking and literature. It is the narrow meshing of a reflection on the question of reproduction, multiples and fiction setting which represents the heart of Martine Aballéa’s work. The phenomenon of duplication and repetition of events, of a reality moving forward and backward on itself, forms a large part of the artist’s work.
