Tango from the Far East with the Japanese singer,
Anna Saeki. For more than twenty years Saeki has combined the expressive energy and passion of Argentine Tango with the sensibility of her Japanese origins. Broadcast in the archipelago from 1910, Tango benefited from a vogue in the dance salons the following decade and numerous Argentine orchestras began to appear in Tokyo after 1945. Anna Saeki made her debut in 1989 as a tango singer after being crowned Miss Sapporo. Soon after, her talent as a singer was acknowledged. She went to Argentina to record her album, receiving critical acclaim and becoming responsible for the Latin Boom in Japan. She is now recognized as a top artist in the Tango world.
