Hjaltalín

Icelandic band Hjaltalin are a quirky (sorry, it's probably illegal to apply that word to Icelandic music post-Bjork) indie nine piece with instrumentation ranging from the usual guitar/bass stuff to clarinet, strings and bassoon. Their intricate arrangements, naive harmonic content and rhythmic complexity makes for familiar yet genuinely new and exciting music. Check their new album "Sleepdrunk Seasons" to get an idea of their style - a sort of acoustic, semi-orchestral Hot Chip. Maybe.
