The Magda Danysz gallery welcomes two major artists from the street art culture who have developed their own unique styles:
Dalek and
Mike Giant. Different in style, the artists share the same cultural influences and a similar world.
Dalek is one of the artists who, like
Shepard Fairey,
Dave Kinsey, and Twist (aka
Barry McGee), takes old school styles of graffiti whilst also exposing the work to whole new audiences.
Mike Giant has added the whole tattoo culture to his graffiti background. He started writing in 1989. Early on, he was influenced by his graffiti partners, as well as by writers such as Twist, Rem, and KR. A habit he has kept from his graffiti years until now, Mike Giant uses words as the building blocks of language.
