Véronique Boudier

Véronique Boudier has developed an artistic practice for the last twenty years which brings together sculpture, installation, performance, photography and video. Often putting herself into the scene in her works, she rejoices in the everyday moments of life. Food products and perishable items are the recurring materials of her works; their alterations evoke the temporary nature of substance and the trivial character of existence. The passage of time and its effects are constantly questioned in her work.

For Nuit d’un jour, the artist films a fire in real time. This hour long fixed view plays out almost like an action sequence, with the intensity of colours, bursts of flame, crackling, and rhythm variations. The image of the fire links formal beauty with the idea of violence and total destruction. Alternating calm and chaos, the artist poetically reproduces the cycle of life. Boudier participated in the first series of La Force de l’Art in 2006.
