Swedish composer
Carl Michael von Hausswolff (born in Linköping, 1956) uses a range of electronic recording devices, from conventional tape decks to sonar machines, to investigate the interaction of sound, electricity, architecture, space and paranormal interference (he's sort of an authority on EVP). Having produced work for Sub Rosa, Touch, Laton and Firework Editions, his influence worldwide was acknowledged by the
Prix Ars Electronica in 2002. He is also King of
Elgaland-Vargaland. Look it up. Honestly.
He does not rule alone, though. Co-monarch of the Kingdoms is conceptual artist, writer, composer and Fireworks Editions label boss Leif Elggren (born 1950, also in Linköping), who will also be presenting work at this event. Expect carefully selected and minutely controlled sound sources shiting slowly over time and ranging from near-zero-db hypnotic electronics to quite frankly terrifying white noise.
