Alela Diane

Psych-folk singer/songwriter Alela Diane was born and raised in Nevada City, California, and her style shares something with another notable product of that town, Joanna Newsom. Her brand of freak-folk is sometimes haunting, ethereal and eerie, sometimes warm, mellow and intoxicating. Her new album "To Be Still" is an ornate, perfectly crafted collection of Bluegrass-tinged songs, perfect for warm nights, campfires and open air - a celebration of traditional American musical forms given modern compositional attention.
