The son of folk singers Loudon Wainwright III and Kate McGarrigle, and brother of Martha, Rufus Wainright has achieved considerable success over the last decade by carving out his own singular sound. Six albums into a soaring career, he's about to premier his first opera - titled “Prima Donna”, a day in the life of an opera singer - at the Manchester International Festival in July 2009.
