In the mid 1980s Helmut Dorner emerged as one of the most significant abstract painters of his generation, achieving widespread recognition through major solo and group shows worldwide. His influences are varied, and include
Gerhard Richter and
Robert Ryman. His recent works have been with plexiglass which allows the viewer to both look at and look through the work involved, questioning the aesthetic quality as well as the act of painting itself. This exhibition is a chance to see more of his work.
