Claude Lévêque

The works of Claude Lévêque are based on popular culture, on the everyday environment and on mental images. He creates atmospheric environments which enlarge the dimension of the installation through the use of light and sound. Playing with the capacity of the works to provoke visual and sensitive emotions, he challenges usual perceptions and reactions to cultural references. A Major artist in the French and international art scene, Claude Lévêque represents France this year at the 53rd Biennale in Venice with his installation Le Grand Soir.
