Will he? Won't he?
Zomby showing up to gigs has become rarer than steak haché in the last few months, which is a real shame. The mystery persona first appeared on the dubstep radar in 2007, and since then has become one of the most subscribed producers and DJs around, following heads such as
Martyn and
Skream down the rave rebirth path.
Well, even if he doesn't show, there's plenty of other talent in the building tonight to make a visit worthwhile. Manchester band
The Whip (the electro housers, not the US punkers) shot to critical acclaim last year with their debut "
X Marks Destination", and have been busy touring and producing ever since;
Diesel U Music champion
Duke Dumont never fails to smash up the dancefloor with his wacked out productions; and finally
Idiotproof and
Pousse Disque provide some solid support.
The dress code is "God save the queen". I'm guessing that means tartan, safety pins and torn t-shirts, not crowns, peacock feathers and doublet and hose. I guess it's up to you.
