Santigold (ex Santogold, name change courtesy of a law suit with a jeweller... go figure) is a singer songwriter from Philadelphia. She cut her teeth as front woman of the Philly based punk/ska outfit
Stiffed, and ties with the band continued thanks to the production work of John Hill on her debut album. Her unique blend of electronic rock and new wave exploded into the limelight with the single "L.E.S. Artistes", a diatribe against all things fake in the arts worlds, and her fanbase has been spreading globally ever since.
