CONCERT

Kayhan Kalhor / Shujaat Hussain Khan

Written 07 September

Saturday 13 December, 00:00
Théâtre de la Ville, 75004 [map]
Kayhan Kalhor, Shujaat Hussain Khan

Two living legends of Oriental music, Kayhan Kalhor, one of Iran's most accomplished post-revolutionary instrumentalist-composers, virtuoso on the kamancheh and Shujaat Husain Khan, perhaps the greatest North Indian classical musician of his generation and master of the sitar, unite their music and skills by combining learned Persian and traditional Indian music. Their concerts, which bear the mark of their respective cultures, are often moving. Accompanied by Arunanghshu Choudhury at the tabla, they both share a common ideal to attain pure beauty through their music and produce a timeless and spiritually refreshing sound.
