Luis Buñuel embodies the subversive, controversial and irrational qualities of surrealism. Praise of the incongruous and dissolving barriers between dream and reality characterise amongst other things the major works of Buñuel’s cinema history. Tonight’s showing, as part of the retrospective dedicated to Buñuel, is the film El ángel exterminador.
