Notorious was conceived from various acquisitions made by le Frac Île-de-France over the past two years. With the explicit reference to the
Alfred Hitchcock film of the same name (though oddly translated into the French Les enchaînés, the schackled), the exhibition resolutely focuses on cinema-integrating numerous screenings whilst also presenting a succession of riddles through sculpture, sketches and other installations that the visitor will have to solve.
From
John Stezaker’s surrealist collages to the merrily mystical work of Franceso Gennari this collection of work provides an eerily supernatural dimension.
