British midwife Anna, shocked by the death of a young girl whose baby she helped to deliver, helps herself to her intimate diary, written in Russian. Following her traces she attempts to unscramble the mystery and meets Semyon, unaware that this pleasant owner of the luxury Trans-Siberian restaurant is in fact a dubious Russian Mafia gang leader and that the document she holds is going to bring her a series of problems… The film stars Viggo Mortensen, Naomi Watts and Vincent Cassel.
