Another week of summer evenings at Parc de la Villette for the Cinéma en plein air season.

Little Sénégal - Rachid Bouchareb (2000)

Alloune is a guide at La Maison des esclaves in Gorée, Senegal. He decides to leave to trace the path of his ancestors deported two centuries earlier to America. This emotional journey leads him to South Carolina and the area of Harlem, Little Senegal, where the African community lives. Excited by the idea of being reunited with his family he discovers a distant cousin Ida who knows nothing of the past.
