Another week’s offerings of summer evening films in Parc de la villette.

On the side of a motorway in California two men strike up a friendship. Max (Gene Hackman), who has just got out of prison, is returning to his hometown to set up a car wash business. Lion (Al Pacino), who joined the marines to escape fatherhood, hopes to see his child again and make amends after five years of absence. Their journey takes them to Lion’s wife who makes him believe that his son is dead and where things begin to take a turn for the worse… The film won the Palme d’Or in Cannes in 1973.
