In the XXII century, the space vessel C57D lands on distant planet Altair 4. An expedition directed by Commander Adams to research the disappearance of the space ship and its team twenty years earlier. The explorers are welcomed by Robby, a super robot who leads them to the enigmatic world of Doctor Morbius where all is not as it seems…

The film received Oscar nominations for its use of special effects and the characters and plot were loosely based on Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
