During the night Rita, a young woman, loses her memory after a car accident on Mulholland Drive; a road which symbolically separates the Hollywood dream from the reality of Los Angeles. She meets Betty Elms, an up and coming actress who has just arrived in LA. Helped by Betty, Rita attempts to rediscover her memory as well as her identity. A psychological thriller considered one of Lynch’s best.
