The Cinema au clair de lune season with film showings screened at various open air (often film related) Parisian locations.

Boudu sauvé des eaux by Jean Renoir
with Michel Simon, Charles Granval, Marcelle Hainia
France / fict. / 1931 / b&w / 1h26 / 35mm

Distraught at the loss of his dog, a beggar throws himself into the Seine from the Pont des Arts. He is saved by a bookseller, Monsieur Lestingois, who puts him up at his family house, much to the annoyance of his family. As Lestingois goes about the task of trying to help out his new friend’s life his own is turned upside down. A joyful satire of bourgeoisie conventions in which Michel Simon plays an irresistible rebellious libertarian at odds with established order.
