From traditional musical roots,
Emilie Simon has developed an original musical style somewhere between sonic landscape and emotive songwriting. Perhaps best known for her soundtrack to the Luc Jacquet film La Marche de l'empereur (March of the Penguins), her work combines intricate composition with experimental studio techniques - "Végétal" (2006, Barclay), for example, uses the sounds of plants alonside flora-themed lyrics.
