Catherine Gil Franco

Catherine Gil Franco is a painter and sculptor, daughter of Vicente Gil Franco, who exhibited for the first time at London’s Royal Academy in 1965 and has since gone on to exhibit in France, the Egyptian cultural and Syrian centres and Quebec’s International Biennale in 1998. Passionate about the Orient, Catherine Gil France has made regular visits to Egypt over the past ten years. Deeply moved by the massacres carried out in Palestine by the Israeli army she fights against general indifference. In her breathtaking work she denounces these crimes against humanity and shows the daily life of a people and its fight against suffering and injustice. Although marked with pain and despair, some of her work also transmits hope.
