Vinter - Lars Tunbjörk

Written 30 January

Friday 19 December, 00:00
Galerie VU', 75004 [map]

Swedish Lars Tunbjörk’s exhibition “Vinter” looks at Sweden’s dark winter and the resulting common depression. It is far from the clichéd images of a beautiful snowy landscape and cosy family homelife. His intricate use of colour in his photography and his biting humour starkly highlights another side to Sweden. The exhibition has parallels with his earlier portrayal of the nightmare world of office life.

Of this exhibition Tunbjörk says: "I often feel beside myself in the wintertime, and I try to go to warmer and lighter places. But the last couple of years I have travelled into the darkness instead - into areas, conditions and encounters in which I don't really know where the outer and inner begin. And even less where they end."
