Soul Jazz Records' "100% Dynamite" party focuses, via their latest compilation "Can You Dig It? The Music and Politics of Black Action Films 1968 - 75", on the heavy funk soundtracks of the cinema of that era and genre. And when you start to list the tracks that came from those films, you realise what a rich mine it is: Coffy Is The Color, Brother's Gonna Work It Out, Shaft In Africa, Across 110th Street, Freddie's Dead, Pusherman...
The Soul Jazz Sound System will be accompanied by screenings of many of the cinematic highlights of this formative black music period.
