Arts de l’Islam - Chefs d’oeuvre de la collection khalili

A selection of 471 works – manuscripts, fabrics and rugs, ceramics and glass, metals and goldsmith’s art, jewellery, wood and precious stones – all from the fabulous collection of Islamic art belonging to Nasser D. Khalili. The exhibition is in three distinct sections:

“Faith, wisdom and destiny” looking at the relationship between art and the sacred
“Workshop of patrons of the art: caliphs, emirs, khans and sultans” which highlights the development of courtly art and adornment in civil society;
“A universe of shapes and colours” which looks at creative development as a precursor to paradise…
