In 2008 fashion designer and journalist
Diane Pernet founded A Shaded View on Fashion Film. The festival A Shaded View On Fashion selects the best of short films from emerging talent and big names and distributes the work worldwide. The works are judged this year by
Nan Goldin,
Maria de Medeiros,
Eric Troncy and
Rick Owens. The latter having free reign of choice, besides the screening of his portrait filmed by the reputed photographer
Nick Knight, the American designer will show us his own choice: Salomé (1923), a rare silent film. ASVOFF will also be showing snippets of several competing films which this year include publicity campaigns and video clips from, amongst others, the artist Roísín Murphy.
