La Maroquinerie receives Glaswegian four piece
Camera Obscura, on tour with their new(ish) album "
My Maudlin Career". This is a band who seem to become more crafty with each release, slowly progressing from their lo-fi roots (see "
Biggest Bluest Hi Fi", 2001) towards a classic, refined indie pop sound. Don't mistake that for middle-of-the-road, though - the new material is both lyrically and musically exciting.
They're joined tonight by Manchester based Folktronica musician Marc Rigelsford, aka
Magic Arm.
