Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker’s exciting challenge is to revive two of her major pieces; encompassing twenty-five years of artistic work: Rosas danst Rosas was choreographed in 1983, the very year of the foundation of the Rosas company, and Zeitung was created in 2008. In keeping with the typical restless style of the Flemish choreographer, and exploring the relationship between music and dance, the performers work on a repertoire of basic movements, demonstrating how the emphasis on a specific gesture, such as crossing and uncrossing the legs, results in the impulse, the swing even, of body movements. The melancholy and vitality of Zeitung will be performed by nine performers to the music of Bach, Webern and Schönberg, accompanied by pianist Alain Franco. An unmissable dance event.
