Lost Light

Written 30 January

Monday 22 December, 00:00
Galerie Patricia Dorffman, 75004 [map]

This exhibition brings together two contrasting artists with surprisingly coherent results. Beijing artist Wu Xiaohai uses charcoal and paper, and Eric Corne paint, to create eerie, other-worldly scenes full of nostalgia and nightmares. Strange figures blend with their backgrounds and loom from shadowy corners, dance with children and float feet over the floor. The surreal scenes evoke something subconcious and childlike, a shared history, and the intense level of information in every piece gets you extremely involved.
