The final day of the third Franco-Korean Film Festival presents work from Kim Baek-Jun, Jung Seong-Wook, Kim Eung-Su and the much applauded Yim Soon-Rye. The festival so far has drawn parallels between French and Korean cities, cultural approaches, directors and individual works.
Shot in Pusan (second city of South Korea, and a town often compared to Marseille) "My Dear Diary" (Kim Baek-Jun/Jung Seong-Wook, 2008) is a description of youth, love and the pursuit of ideals. "The Past is a Strange Country" is a documentary concerning Kim Sae-Jin and Lee Jae-Ho, who's anti-American sacrifice by fire 20 years ago is here explored through interviews with their fellow activists. Finally, "Forever the Moment" tells the tale of the Korean Olympic handball team, who reached the Athens final in 2004 despite extensive prejudice.
