So we're all back in the reins, back to work (in body, at least) and getting back into the flow. But that doesn't mean we have to stop the fun, right? It must be one of the most wonderful things about Parisian life: when you get back from holiday, so does everyone else. The galleries start to open, the concert schedules fill up and the culture starts to flow. What better way to beat the back-to-work blues?

Prime example: Jazz à la Villette. The lineup for this estimable series is genuinely stellar this year, with Ornete Coleman, John Zorn and Elysian Fields, amongst others. Gallery-wise, The Lazy Dog, Galerie Stanislas Bourgain, Galerie Martine et Thibault de la Châtre and Galerie Daniel Templon win our prize for keenest art institutions back in the saddle.
