Right then. The new year is in full swing, and the cultural machine that is our fair city is starting to fire on all cylinders. There are some genuinely unmissable musical events in town - Trus'me, Wadaiko Makoto, Owen Pallett, Fanfarlo, Crazy P and Julia Kent are all doing their thing(s) this week - and galleries play host to Giovanni Anselmo, Mounir Fatmi and Claire Morgan.

There's a gem of an event on Saturday for dance fans in the form of Robyn Orlin's collaboration with Ibrahim Sissoko, and the clubs are almost constantly firing out the parties.
